Pizza Dough in Your Food Processor

  by  , Saturday 30 December 2017, Categories: Home-Garden

Your food processor is so versatile; it can perform a wide variety of tedious tasks in a matter of seconds. From chopping of vegetables, grinding of meat, shredding cheese, to making your own homemade dough, you just have to press a button and it’s all done? Has it ever been any easier than this? I don’t think so! You can even make homemade pizza dough with your commercial food processor in just a few quick and easy steps. Here is the recipe:

  • All-purpose flour 3 cups
  • Instant yeast 1 tablespoon
  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Olive oil 2 tablespoons
  • Warm water 1 cup
  • Sugar 1 tsp

Serving size:
Enough for 6 persons

  • In a small container, dissolve yeast and sugar in water and set it aside to rest for about 5 minutes.
  • Insert the dough blade in your food processor bowl if it is included in the attachment. If it is not, regular metal blade will work just fine.
  • Transfer the remaining dry ingredients, flour and salt to the food processor bowl and pulse it for a couple of seconds to combine them evenly.
  • With the machine running, add the yeast mixture little by little allowing it to fully incorporate in the mixture before adding more.
  • Also add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and continue processing for a minute or until the mixture comes together in the form of a ball and picks up all the particles clean off the walls of the bowl.
  • Process for a further 30 seconds to knead the dough.
  • Take a large container and grease its interior with the remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil and transfer the dough to it. Make sure that the container you choose has enough capacity to allow the dough to rise and become double its size.
  • Cover the container with a clean cloth and let it rest in a warm place for the dough to rise. Leave it for at least 45 minutes or until the dough becomes double in size.
  • Divide the dough into equal portions and roll it out on a floured surface. You can set the thickness of the crust as desired.
  • Use this crust in any pizza recipe you like and enjoy your homemade freshly baked pizza!
